3 Tips for Glowing Skin on Your Wedding Day

YOUR WEDDING DAY IS ARGUABLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DAYS OF YOUR LIFE.

Don’t overlook your pre-wedding skincare timeline.

Here are some of my top tips to help guide you to look your best on your big day.

1. FIND YOUR GLAM DREAM TEAM: Securing a trusted hair and makeup team early is essential. The last thing you would want is to be frantically searching for your glam squad weeks prior to your wedding. Securing your team early will allow for a bridal preview to ensure you love your look.

Pro Tip: Coordinate your makeup trial with your engagement session. This gives you time to get to know me and allows me to talk through the different types of looks we can achieve. In addition, you will be able to see how your makeup will look when professionally photographed and allow you enough time to adjust your final look before your wedding day.

Hair Recommendation:
Michigan Friends, I have included my favorite hairstylist to work with:

2. INVEST IN SKINCARE:  One common mistake I often see is brides neglecting their skin! The health of your skin serves as a canvas for your makeup. Therefore, the smoother and more hydrated your skin is, the better your skin will look with (and without) makeup. This is why I always recommend meeting with an aesthetician to discuss your short and long-term skincare goals 3 to 6 months prior to your wedding date.

There are so many phenomenal skincare services out there to help you achieve glowing skin for your wedding day. My top three personal favorites are Hydrafacial, Dermaplaning, and Microneedling.

  • HYDRAFACIAL: The Hydrafacial can be done the week of your wedding to give you an amazing glow. Pair it with Dermaplaning for the ultimate pre-makeup canvas 1-2 days before the wedding.

    • PRO TIP: Don’t forget about your soon-to-be spouse. They can have radiant, glowing skin too with this non-invasive hydrating facial. Or, treat yourself + your mom or future mother-in-law to a spa date. It’s the perfect relaxing service right before the wedding.

  • DERMAPLANING: This is a painless add-on service that removes dead skin and peach fuzz. This is a MUST before any airbrush makeup since the foundation tends to cling to the fuzz and making it more noticeable.

  • MICRONEEDLING: This is a resurfacing treatment done in a series of THREE sessions carried out every 4-6 weeks. Microneedling addresses pore size, fine lines, and wrinkles, as well as acne scarring and any textural issues of the skin by promoting your skin to create more elastin and collagen naturally. There is minimal downtime and your results are natural and permanent. Your face will have a sunburned pink appearance for the first 24 hours and will be back to normal after that. A numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment to ensure you’re completely comfortable and pain-free.

Skincare Recommendation:

My go-to aestheticians are at Ethos Day Spa. They have personally transformed my skin and I cannot wait to share her with all of my future brides!

3. TOUCH-UP KIT: Ensure you are prepared to endure the toasts, tears, and photos on your wedding day with a touch-up kit. The necessities should include lip liner, lipstick, blot powder, and a refreshing finishing spray if desired (bridesmaids will want to have their own touch-up kit as well).

Some must-have essentials are blotting powder to help wick away excess oil during the day, as well as a finishing spray to rehydrate and refresh your look.

Cheers to an amazing wedding!
