The Art of Winged Liner

How to create the Perfect Winged Eyeliner

Have you ever struggled to get the perfect cat eye? Does the symmetry of your eyeliner frustrate you? Here are some tips and tricks to help make tackling this daunting part of your makeup routine a little easier.

1. Use a liquid liner to draw a fine line across the eye line.

2. With your eye open use the liquid liner to create the wing. Look straight forward into the mirror, with a light flicking motion starting from the outer corner of the eye move toward your temple. This step allows you to see where the wing will fall when your eye is open.

3. Use a gel eyeliner and an angle brush to fill in your liner. Start on the outer corner and move toward the center of your eye. Then repeat this step from the inner corner to the center.

4. Clean and sharpen your eyeliner with a q-tip and makeup remover or fast response eye cream and a clean angle brush. Make sure you aren’t tugging on the eye while you clean up, that will affect the angle of the wing. Having your eyes open and your gaze directed forward will give you the best result.
