My Story

From the moment I first held a makeup brush, I was captivated by the transformative power of cosmetics. My passion for the art of beauty led me to pursue a formal education at the Douglas J Aveda Institute in Grand Rapids, where I honed my skills as a makeup artist and cutting specialist. Eager to expand my horizons, I joined the Douglas J Exchange in Ann Arbor, where I immersed myself in advanced cutting and makeup techniques, catered to bridal parties, and became a certified Aveda Freelance Makeup Artist.

My journey continued when I joined MAC Cosmetics in Grand Rapids, where my dedication and expertise were quickly recognized. I swiftly rose through the ranks, earning a management position and contributing to the successful launch of the MAC Store at 12 Oaks Mall in Novi in 2013. My leadership skills and passion for excellence led to my promotion to management at the MAC Store at the Somerset Collection in Troy. Recognizing my aptitude for education and training, MAC selected me to join the prestigious Dream Team, a select group of makeup artists who represented the North Central region at events across the country. Driven by my unwavering commitment to artistry and knowledge, I was selected to participate in the Training Succession Planning program. In this capacity, I facilitated regional trainings, extended the training team's reach within stores, and participated in roundtable meetings aimed at enhancing sales, productivity, and customer service. After eight fulfilling years with MAC, I felt the calling to embark on a freelance career, allowing me to fully embrace my entrepreneurial spirit and artistic vision. Since venturing into freelancing full-time, I have experienced extraordinary growth, catering to an extensive clientele of over 800 individuals annually. My expertise has graced over 60 weddings each year, and I have had the privilege of collaborating on numerous commercials and advertising campaigns.

My passion for education remained unwavering, leading me to share my knowledge and expertise with aspiring makeup artists. Over the years, I have conducted numerous workshops and masterclasses on bridal makeup fundamentals and advanced techniques, reaching salons and schools across the state of Michigan. In my quest to make a more profound impact on the beauty industry, I joined the Ethos Day Spa team as their Director of Events and Education. In this multifaceted role, I forge connections with local schools, facilitate classes, and actively engage in community outreach initiatives. Within the salon and spa, I lead makeup education trainings, curate quarterly updates, and collaborate with brand representatives to provide advanced education opportunities.

Throughout my career, I have relished the opportunity to grow both as a makeup artist and an educator. The convergence of my passion for beauty and my commitment to knowledge has paved the way for a fulfilling and impactful professional journey. I eagerly anticipate the future, embracing the endless possibilities that lie ahead in the world of makeup artistry.
